customize its project based on unique customer requirements.
The Ascade best-of-practice methodology contains of several parts carefully
designed to ensure a successful delivery:
-
Pre-Study - This is an optional process where an analysis of key business requirements and specific customer requirements is conducted.
-
Implementation - This is the process from Project Start-Up to handover of the project to Support. During the implementation phase, Ascade provides a multitude of services including business Installation, Configuration, Data Load, Training and Testing, as well as Analysis & Design, Integration Development and Integration Testing.
-
Production Start-Up - This is the assistance and support offered in the production start-up phase after the project organization is dismantled, to assure a smooth migration to the Carrier Cockpit™ solution.
-
Production - This is the assistance and support offered when in production, to assure trouble-free operation and a value realization of the investment made.
The Implementation process is divided in parallel tracks - The reason for dividing the project model into two tracks is that they may be implemented either in parallel or in sequence. To achieve a quick win and rapidly gain some payback from the investment, the first phase may include only parts of the interfaces, adding more interfaces to the surrounding systems in phase two.
-
Carrier Cockpit™ Standard - This is the implementation of a stand-alone standard Carrier Cockpit™ solution that can be delivered in 8 weeks or less if both parties have a dedicated project team.
-
Customer Unique Development - The majority of work carried out in
this track concerns interface development. Other customer unique development
may include changes to the standard Carrier Cockpit™ functionality or logic.
The length of this track depends on the amount of development included.
